Going earthy for your skin
November 19, 2008 – 7:39 am
So that botox-needy picture below got me researching more realistic to-do’s for my face. Before I put strange organisms into it, I think I’ll start by “healthifying” my face routine. I love my pink electronic clarisonic (rhymes!) facial brush!
I’m running out of my cleanser…so I’m eyeing the Terralina Gentle facial cleanser that is made with olive oil and botanical extracts. All ingredients listed on the site, and with links so you can read what they are. 99% natural sounds good to me
STOREADORE should give you 20% off too!

And on that note, how about going earthy for your nails?
I read in the local paper (can’t remember which one) that there was a 15 minute manicure/20 minute pedicure salon at Dulles airport. Since I’ve been flying pretty frequently lately, I’ve also been showing up to the airport more than 45 minutes before boarding. That’s because I get to spend time discovering an awesome series of nail colors, lotions (green tea is my fav!), and other body care items. Butter London was started in Seattle by some British chicks who wanted to create nail colors (+ base and top coats) that provide a 3-free non-toxic (sans formaldehyde, toluene or dibutyl phthalate (DBP)) formula. The colors are great for fall/winter, fairly muted except for a few. Cream tea is a perfect alternative to Essie’s ballet slippers. HRH is a stunning purple, great for toenails. I recently added La Moss for a deep deep wine option too! Love love looooooooooove!

It’s snowing (flurries), stay warm with this puffer
November 18, 2008 – 5:35 pm
The rumor over in DC is that we’re due for a harsh winter. I guess there’s a 50% chance of that prediction coming true. I’m pretty happy with my full length stylish puffer, but nothing wrong with a 6 oz jacket that stuffs down into a teeny pouch the size of a coffee mug. Moncler’s down filled puffers can be found at Neimans, Saks, and other major department stores.
How cool is that! Lululemon also has one (for about half the price) that folds down to a small travel pillow size!

Darn you Blair Waldorf…
October 8, 2008 – 11:54 am
Courtesy of my eye for all things above my pay grade, and Milly’s spectacular product placement…I took the plunge.

I’ve had this ribbon cardigan tagged in my wishlist for about 2 months now. Once I saw Blair Waldorf wearing it a few weeks ago, during yet another fantastic episode of Gossip Girl (my guilty pleasure), I decided I needed to take the plunge. All because “everyone else would soon be ordering the awesome ribbon sweater and the demand will keep it from going on sale (my original plan) and then it will sellout and I won’t get it”…and it would all be so unfair because I saw it first.
I’m right though, aren’t I? Btw, the black version looks very awesome with a pink crew underneath. Should I have gotten the white one? hmmm…
Why didn’t I think of that?
October 8, 2008 – 11:39 am
I was riding in a NYC cab, (for our second NYC trip last month) and on came this short infomercial/commercial about this new company started by Goldman Sachs alumnae post B-school. They spent years coming up with the perfect design and material to save your stilettos! (This morning I just learned, while reading a fashion article in Time, that stiletto is supposedly Italian for “dagger”–haha)
What an awesome idea! I’m an inheritant of the famous Ergs flinstone-ish feet so my heels are nothing to “save”, but if/when I venture into the likes of the Manolos and Louboutins C and my other shoe fiends collect I will defnitely go for these. This product especially stood out because I’m an avid fashion and shoe blog reader, and I’ve seen Princess Poochie as well as Kelly share tragedies about scuffed stilletos. It really does happen, so SoleMates to save the day!
