Where’d the last week go?

I was down for the count, and completely out of commission.

Hopefully this cold is 100% over and done with by tomorrow.  Until then, I’m just catching up.

A belated pictorial summary of last weekend’s festivities:

Still recovering but had to share a keeper

I’m in recovery mode from the 5 flights we took over the long weekend.  Someone had sick germs and unfortunately I’m too rundown to fight off getting sick now.

Onto the good stuff, my sister gave me a card this weekend with an awesome graphic of a woman giving a presentation to her male colleagues.  (I’ll try to take a shot of it later)  The greatest quote complements the picture: “As a woman, I find it very embarrassing to be in a meeting and realize I’m the only one in the room with balls. ” -Rita Mae Brown

It now sits on display in my (male-dominated) office :)

Busy getting our party on in Cali

Zippers on leggings? - for real?

I love chickdowntown.com, but this showing up in my inbox is just ridiculous

and then I got this, ay caramba

Mmmmmm, tasty

100% sexy in a marathon kinda way

A snazzy resource- appointment scheduler

Lately, I’ve had a lot of friends getting into their own businesses, ok just 3 but still.

I thought I’d share this resource as I’m sure it’s not one-of-a-kind but it’s one method of providing a straightforward manner for people to schedule an appointment with you. (Although, google calendar probably covers this to a certain degree.)

It’s called Genbook and it’s a free online appointment scheduling book for small businesses. Clients can select from available appointment times (that you set) and fill out a custom form to setup their appointment. Automatic email reminders can also be sent to your clients, neato! For more info, check it out.

And I found another one…Eventbrite!

It’s coming

Tuesday Monday at 10am I will be buying VIP tickets to the greatest shopping event of the year. The District Sample Sale :)

See what happens when you make big promises

I was all good on my blogging and then I got slammed with work in all areas.

It’s our wedding anniversary week (I figure since it was a several day celebration in Aruba I can claim the week-long celebration at each anniversary too), and we’ve been busy celebrating :) I’ll add the picture to prove that Summy’s been celebrating also—with some Pinot Leashio.

So for those asking, year 2 is traditionally cotton. Last year was paper, and I received the entire shopaholic series for our Aruba trip (awesome beach reading btw). Jeremy got a custom print of Aruba’s night sky on our wedding night. This year I kindly informed Jeremy that our traditional gift is cotton.

Tuesday night I went to happy hour with a friend–what’s a lady to do when her hubby’s at work past 8? When I came home, I was greeted by gorgeous flowers (from the Ergs), and a “beach” candlelit picnic complete with the most amazing cheeses, strawberries, prosciutto, and baguette. The picnic was setup on a new cotton blanket, and we were graced with a cotton scented candle (woodwick–one of my favorites). Yum yum to all the senses. (This setting is not to be confused with the small Valentine’s day fire fiasco of ‘06 but close, sans fire of course.)

Saturday our celebrations will continue with a fantastic dinner that I’ll recap next week. Yum yum, I can’t wait!

And because I hate posts without pictures, I promise I’ll update this tonight with said pictures :)

Here’s the pictorial proof:

Married for 2 years…

Here’s a nice then and now…the “then” was during Jeremy’s 2nd visit to Cali on my 23rd birthday, a long time ago.

20 miles in thunder, lightning, and rain

…but I’m alive and well :)

Picture post coming soon
