Anthro, where have you been all my life?
July 30, 2008 – 7:26 pm
Maybe it’s the fact that I’m closer to 30 than 20, or maybe it’s the fact that I’m always looking for decorating ideas and seeing Anthro raves on those blogs. I’m not sure why, but Anthropologie was the hot store to shop at years ago and so I wrote it off as another one of those. When you live in a college town with 1 mainstream store, ::Express::, you easily write-off chain stores. (Notice my passion for boutiques and one-of-a-kinds).
Well, now I’m loving everything I see from Anthro. In fact, I thoroughly look forward to their email ads, because the photography, text, clothing, setting, etc. …everything is just beautiful. Is this shabby chic? Am I turning shabby chic? In someone else’s favorite words, oh my!
One of my favorite boutiques is back up online (and local for you DCers)
July 30, 2008 – 1:58 pm
Urban Chic came back online! Hooray!
With that, they had a 20% off sitewide promo last week (not sure if it’s still valid) and now they have 15% all their shoes
Use code KICKOFF at checkout and cash in!
Dolce Vita Daisy flips, how I love thee…
FYI, if you prefer purple (not me, I love my pinks you know) and you have bigger feet than this shrimpy author…head over to Overstock for a great deal! Also, in my experience, Dolce Vitas run true-to-size or a little small so I hope that helps
This could almost convince me to have children…and that, my friends, is a big statement

How cool is this invention?
Would I look silly putting summy in it?
I don’t actually need children to use this gadget, right? Maybe I can just use it for when we hang out with A. Ok, maybe that’s the crazy pills talking but I just find this contraption brilliant in design!
And props to Tab who made me signup for this google feed months ago. So far I’ve been finding useful concepts for work, but I occasionally get all giddy when I read about these new cool things first.

A day in the life of a 10 month old
July 28, 2008 – 7:02 am
[gallery]Wake up at 5am, a little gibberish here and there, screaming “Obama” –which was way crazy–, breakfast, nap, lunch (organic split pea soup with carrots I believe), a stroll along the Westside Highway, Starbucks (not for the kid of course), chewing on a straw while crusing around in the stroller, Pinkberry (yes please), receiving compliments from strangers, going home and doing “360 supermans” on the floor, bathtime, and passing out.
Here are some highlights of A’s day:

and now I want to go shopping (lucky for me, I already bought 2 of these earlier this year…via the Apple store)
and now a highlight of my personal favorites

Flip Video Ultra Series by Pure Digital Technologies
![]() |
This is the first camcorder to simplify the process of capturing and sharing video. With integrated software, the Ultra enables editing, organizing and seamless uploading to AOL, YouTube and other video sharing sites. Challenged to develop a product that communicates this simplicity in a fun and user friendly manner, the design team focused on the form factor, ergonomics and control layout. The result is a highly-compact camera that can fit in any pocket and provide unmatched portability and intuitive use for capturing, editing and sharing high-quality video. “The design of the Flip expresses perfectly the simplicity of the product. It is a breeze to use, and it makes capturing and sharing memories so much more natural.” Jean Jacques L’Henaff, IDSA, VP of Industrial Design, Audiovox Electronics Corp.

Smart Touch™ Salad Spinner

The Smart Touch Salad Spinner is designed to make quick work of salad prep. Use the inner basket as a colander to rinse greens, drop the basket into the spinner bowl, set the lid on top, and just one press of the Smart Touch lever sets the basket spinning at optimal speed to dry greens quickly and efficiently. The clear-view top lets users keep an eye on the process. One button engages the integrated disc brake to bring the basket to a quick, solid stop, fluffing the lettuce in the process.
